Creamy Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

Creamy Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls can be made in so many ways and the great thing about them? You can make them super healthy and filling if you fill it with the right ingredients. I’ve done different variations of the smoothie bowl, using a similar base. Today, I’ve made a creamy chocolate smoothie bowl.

In this time of COVID-19- I want to eat ice cream every day. While of course, I eat ice cream sometimes (because I do not believe in eliminating foods you like from your diet), this is something I can enjoy every day that satisfies my chocolate and ice cream cravings. The ingredients are simple. You want to make sure if you are eating this for a meal, that you include: carbs, protein, and healthy fats. This will help keep you full for hours.

It’s also important to make sure you are choosing a clean and healthy protein powder. Make sure you are checking the ingredients and nutrition facts. Aim to get one that has at least 15g of protein and 3g of fiber (if not more).

I always use half a frozen banana along with some unsweetened almond milk, water, and ice. The toppings differ and I make a lot of different flavors, but the creamy chocolate smoothie bowl is my favorite.

If you like this, try my pumpkin pie smoothie bowl, vanilla cupcake smoothie bowl, or red, white and blue smoothie bowl recipe.

Tips:

  • If it is too runny/watery, next time, try adding more ice. I’ve found the 1.25 cups of liquid to 1 cup of ice ratio gives a creamy, ice cream-like consistency. Your blender may be different so try varying the amounts as you see fit. I have the Ninja Auto IQ Single-Serve Blender.
  • Freeze your banana to help make the mixture thicker.
  • Change up the toppings! Add some peanut butter, almond butter, chocolate chips, or whatever your heart desires!
