Blackened Tilapia
I’m a huge fish lover and though I usually turn to baking it (it’s hard to mess up that way and healthy!) I decided to spice it up and try a healthy blackened tilapia recipe! It was easy, quick, and tasty! I usually always have a lean protein, veggie, and healthy grain (and sometimes healthy fat) for dinner, so I paired the blackened tilapia with steamed broccoli and garlic-lime brown rice! I’m a fan of brown rice but it can just get so blah- so I like to spice it up as well! My garlic-lime rice recipe is here.
So all I did was mix a few spices together and viola!
This is for 4 filets of tilapia.
Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp Paprika
- 2 tsp Himalayan Sea Salt
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 3 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Oregano
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
Directions
1. Heat a medium skillet on medium-high heat. If non-stick add a Tbsp of water (if not add 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil)
2. Coat both sides of the tilapia with seasoning as desired.
3. Place tilapia in a skillet and cook about 4-5 minutes. Flip and cook on the other side for about 4-5 minutes. (Until fish flakes easily)
Enjoy your meal!
