Crispy Air Fryer Tofu Bowl

Air fryers are all the rage these days. You can air-fry a vast variety of foods from meat to veggies. One of my favorite ways to make tofu is in the air-fryer. It makes it crispy in a portion of the time it takes to bake in the oven. Crispy air fryer tofu is the perfect protein for many meals, whether you are trying to eat more plant-based, are vegetarian, vegan, or just love tofu!

Tofu is a great source of protein and contains all nine essential amino acids. It’s also packed with calcium, manganese, and selenium. One thing to note is I always buy organic tofu to make sure it is free of GMOs. It only costs a few cents more and is worth it to know what you are getting.

Press Tofu: Make sure you press the tofu for about 15 minutes prior to adding the seasoning. Getting most of the water out will help the tofu to absorb the seasonings flavor.

As for air fryers, they are a great way to get that ‘fried’ taste, without deep frying anything. I personally LOVE and use the CRUX Air-Fryer. I’ve had it for about 2.5 years, use it many times per month and it still works like brand new.

Now let’s get into making the crispy air fryer tofu. Today, I put it in a chipotle style bowl and it’s o-so-delicious. My bowl consisted of cilantro lime brown rice, black beans, fajitas, tofu, romaine lettuce, and pico de galo.

I seasoned my tofu with paprika and garlic powder, which gave the outside a nice tasty crisp. The cilantro lime brown rice is a copy-cat of the recipe chipotle uses and give just the right flavor. Fajitas are super easy to make, simply cut up some peppers and onion, and either cook them in a frying pan or on the grill with a dash of salt and pepper. I wanted a little extra flavor for this bowl, so I added Trader Joe’s green goddess dressing. The flavor is delicious, but it’s light and healthy.
